Abstract | |||
The UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) is the worlds largest longitudinal database of primary care medical records containing 13 million individuals (5 million of them are active patients), contributing 1.5 billion clinical records, and more than 1 billion therapy records. The age, gender, and death rate distribution of the CPRD population is similar to that of the UK general population, minimizing selection bias and maximizing results generalizability. This database will serve as a new resource for DCEG investigators who are interested in cancer etiology and outcome research, pharmacoepidemiology and chemoprevention research, rare disorders, and others. |
