Abstract | |||
Incidence rates for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) and multiple myeloma (MM) have risen rapidly in recent decades. Several factors have been linked to the increased incidence of these diseases, including the use of hair coloring products. Several epidemiologic studies have associated employment as a cosmetologist with NHL and MM; fewer data are available on the risk of these cancers among users of hair coloring products. The purpose of this proposed study is to examine hair dye use and other exposures as risk factors for NHL and MM using a population-based case-control design in the State of Connecticut, which has among the highest incidences of NHL and MM in the world. |
