Abstract | |||
Development of computerized study managment, scheduling and tracking tools in support of CGB family studies. Major development work was accomplished during FY2003. This culminated in the activation of the software package designated "FAIR-Event Manager," in September 2003. This tool was initially configured to support the Hereditary Breast/Ovarian Cancer Breast Imaging Study. During FY 2004, it was successfully modified to support the Familial Testicular Cancer Project. The system has been designed in such a manner as to facilitate using it in support of multiple studies, with relatively minor changes required when moving from one project to the next. At present, activity related to this study consists primarily of fine-tuning the two study-specific versions of FAIR-EM, to accomodate newly-identified study requirements. This tool has been posted on the DCEG website, to encourage its use in other studies outside the Human Genetics Program, with similar study management activities. An updated, expanded version of this system is being developed for our two newest protocols, Familial Pleuro-Pulmonary Blastoma and the Li-Fraumeni syndrome. |
