The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has established the Center for Bioinformatics (NCI CB) to provide bioinformatics support and integration of its diverse research initiatives to the cancer research community. NCI CB does this, in part, by providing consistent models and comprehensive data in an accessible format to leverage the breadth of information gathered by the basic and clinical research communities. The NCI CB recognize that for these systems to be useful, the data must be accurate and up-to-date.
NCI CB and its contractors create software systems that supply data for biomedical research in a variety of areas. Examples of these systems include caArray, a microarray data repository (http://caarray.nci.nih.aov), Rembrandt, a clinical genomics research tool (htt~://tr.nci.nih.aov/rembrandt), and the Cancer Gene Anatomy Project (http://cgap.nci.nih.gov).
The scope of this Statement of Work encompasses Contractor support for data quality assurance and validation for the NCI CB, specifically to create manual and automated data validation methods for basic, functional, and application specific data validation for NCI CB data systems |
