Abstract | |||
Special SEER studies - This study examines the association between SEER-based cancer outcomes and environmental UV exposures derived from public databases, as well as the relationship between cancer and various disorders in SEER-Medicare. We are completing studies of the possible relationships between cancer and neurodegenerative diseases in SEER-Medicare. A first paper found no relationship between cancer and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Two other papers review relationships between cancer and Parkinson's disease and cancer and Alzheimer's, including by cancer outcome and by sex, race, and age. The first of these is under review by IJE and the second is about to be submitted. We are also examining the relationship between PD and cancer in Asian-Americans in a Research Letter for JAMA Oncology in response to a paper on the subject using a Taiwanese database. |
